Each morning began with one of the finest breakfast experiences we have enjoyed anywhere in India.
The lavish buffet offered an extraordinary selection of freshly baked breads, tropical fruits, artisan pastries, healthy options, Indian classics and international favourites.
One moment, however, will remain with me forever.
Watching fresh Aloo Parathas being prepared over a traditional earthen clay stove by one of the resort’s culinary team members was a beautiful reminder that luxury can also be wonderfully simple.
Served with fresh yoghurt, homemade pickles and butter, it perfectly captured the authentic flavours of Rajasthan.
Breakfast overlooking the gardens, while peacocks wandered gracefully nearby, became one of the most memorable moments of our stay.
Lunch
Lunch at Rajvilas is equally impressive.
Whether enjoying regional Indian cuisine or lighter international dishes, every plate reflects precision, freshness and creativity.

As evening falls, Surya Mahal, the resort’s signature restaurant, transforms into an elegant dining destination.

Among the standout dishes are the celebrated Laal Maas, a rich and beautifully balanced Rajasthani lamb curry, and the exquisite Lobster Moilee, delicately cooked in coconut milk, mustard and green chilli.

Exploring Jaipur
The Oberoi Rajvilas is ideally located just fifteen minutes from Jaipur’s historic Pink City, making it an excellent base for exploring Rajasthan’s cultural treasures.
Our visit included the magnificent Amer Fort, whose impressive courtyards and intricate mirror work remain among Rajasthan’s greatest architectural masterpieces.
We also explored Jaigarh Fort, renowned for its commanding views over the Aravalli Hills, and Nahargarh Fort, where breathtaking panoramic views of Jaipur provide one of the city’s most spectacular sunsets.
No visit would be complete without spending time at the colourful Johari Bazaar, where traditional jewellery, handcrafted textiles, gemstones and local craftsmanship beautifully reflect Jaipur’s vibrant heritage.
When the Monsoon Paints Rajvilas Green
Some destinations are transformed by the monsoon.
Rajvilas comes alive.
As gentle rain fell across the gardens, the fragrance of rain-soaked earth filled the air.
The trees appeared richer, greener and more vibrant than ever before.
The lotus ponds shimmered beneath soft grey skies.
Then came one of the most unforgettable moments of our stay.
The peacocks.
Watching these magnificent birds gracefully spread their feathers and dance in the rain was a moment of pure joy.
Time seemed to stand still.
Those few minutes reminded us that true luxury is often found in nature’s simplest gifts.
